Stress Management

We know that taking a time-out and a couple of deep breaths can help you and your aging loved one de-stress; but did you know there are many other ways to relax your mind and body?

Some of these stress fixes may even surprise you!

Hugging – Studies show that hugging, cuddling, and holding hands can actually lower your heart rate and blood pressure leaving you feeling relaxed and comforted!

Drinking Tea – A recent study in London showed that people who drink black or green tea during the day have significantly lower stress levels than those who drink caffeinated beverages. You can also use tea time as a break time in your busy schedule!

Technological Time Out – Too much time spent on technology (especially using technology for work related issues) has been shown to create more stress. Take a break from your cell phone, tablet, or computer and take a walk or put together a puzzle with your loved ones!

There are so many ways to give your mind and body a break from stress! Find out what works best for you and your aging loved one and try to work it into your daily routines!
