Meet the Vancouver, BC Office

At Senior Helpers of Vancouver, we are committed to providing the compassionate care your loved one needs to age with dignity in the comfort of home. Since opening in early 2024, our Vancouver office has been under the leadership of Marika Oba, who identified a significant need for a personalized, individual-centered model of in-home care. We provide proprietary training and ongoing education for our care professionals to ensure they stay at the forefront of the industry and can offer the highest possible level of service for our clients. 

It does not have to be complicated to get the right care for your senior. Marika and the entire team at Senior Helpers of Vancouver is here to make it simple to customize your in-home care plan with the services your loved one requires.

Get started with a complimentary in-home assessment. There is no obligation, so it’s an opportunity to learn more about the quality of life we can create for your loved one. Your Senior Helpers consultant will work with you to determine what they need to stay safer and more comfortable at home. We will outline your options and help you decide what’s best for your senior and your entire family. This includes a closer look at:

Client Services Director

Marika is a seasoned Licensed Practical Nurse specializing in home care with over a decade of experience. Her strong nursing background is complemented by a sharp business acumen and operations mindset. Throughout her career, Marika has led multiple teams, contributed to professional advisory committees, and spearheaded provincial programs. In addition to her clinical work, she has provided invaluable support as a business coach, assisting franchisees in launching and managing their home care businesses. Marika's dedication to delivering compassionate care within her community is matched by her multifaceted skill set and unwavering commitment to both the medical and entrepreneurial aspects of her profession. This combination makes her an invaluable asset to the healthcare community and beyond.

Office Assistant - Intern

Ziara is a driven high school with a knack for staying organized, managing time, and communicating like a pro. She’s active in cross-country, debate, and eco-awareness clubs. Outside of school, Ziara plays the piano and volunteers at a shelter, cooking meals for those in need. As a seasoned babysitter, she’s also a multitasking master. With curiosity, compassion, and creativity, Ziara makes a great addition to our team!

Scheduling Manager

Sarah joins Senior Helpers Vancouver as our Scheduling Manager, bringing with her a strong background in respite care and experience supporting children in before and after school programs. She recently completed her degree in Psychology, which further enhances her understanding of human connection and compassionate care.

What truly sets Sarah apart is her passion for building meaningful relationships - something that perfectly aligns with the heart of what we do at Senior Helpers. Her warmth, dedication, and attention to detail make her an invaluable part of our team, supporting our caregivers, clients, and families every day.

When she’s not coordinating care schedules, you’ll likely find Sarah spending time with her beloved cats 

Jana Haynes

Jana Haynes

Sales & Marketing Manager

Jana is one of the warmest and most genuine members of our team. She has a true passion for connecting with people, listening to their stories and building relationships that matter. Her ability to make others feel seen and valued fits beautifully with the heart of senior care.

Jana completed her Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and previously worked as a Director of Children’s Services. Through this experience, she developed strong skills in leadership, communication, safety and compassion. She brings a calm, nurturing presence and a natural talent for creating positive and engaging environments for clients, families and community partners.

Outside the office, Jana enjoys an active and creative lifestyle. She loves playing tennis, bike riding, traveling, exploring new places and spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking.

We are thrilled to have Jana as part of the Senior Helpers Vancouver team. She brings kindness, professionalism and enthusiasm to everything she does, and we are grateful to have her supporting our mission of Senior Care Only Better.
